BiG Blount

Anthony Blount also known by his stage name Big Blount , is a American rapper and producer. Blount was born in Greenville North Carolina.The city is also known as "BMX Pro Town USA", home of East Carolina Universty and the home of multi platinum selling artist Petey Pablo. Blount was all ways into sports as a child he allways felt one day he would be a professional football or basketball player.Growing up it was hard coming from a broken home. Blount parents divorce and Blount was sent to live with his grand parents at the age of 13.One of the best basketball players around his way he never could pursue sports because he never had the support or guidance from his family so he took it to the streets.In the mid 80's the crack epidemic hit hard and Blount found his self in the middle of it in the streets getting money.Runing from Baltimore MD to NY back to NC, Blount seen alot of his friends get locked up and murdered. Blount was always a fan of hiphop since he first heard a Run Dmc album.Not completely leaving the streets Blount started to Dj with his friend DT. DT was better at djing so Blount started to dance. At that time dancing was the most popular thing in hiphop.Puffy was dancing for father MC,Jermaine dupri Whodini,Tupac Digital Underground and etc.Blount gain alots of attention from the streets,the clubs,skating rings,college campuses as one of the best dancers around.Wining a dance contest he got to go on the treat'em right tour with Chub Rock who had the number one Hiphop single in the country.The treat'em right tour was stop because of a shooting,But blount went on other tours for major hiphop artist at the time.Returning home he knew hiphop was something he wanted to do.Blount started to recording song with a local producer by the name of Earn Money.Earn and Blount build a chemistry in the studio and recorded 14 tracks in the first week.Already well known in his home town his carrer took off .With a management team in tact Blount Launch his own tour Cakalaka to New York make you sweat tour.Opening up for acts like Mc lyte , Das Effect,Robase etc. Blount put out his own EP Ride the Rhythm which sold over 7000 copies throughout the state of NC and surrounding areas.Ride the Rhythm was the first song blount produce , which started him as a producer.With the sucess of that single help launch the career of Kam Moye A.K.A Supastition who Blount put on the remix.Moving to Raleigh NC in 1996 Blount continued to be a force to deal with as a Artist and Producer.Discovering and working with new talent in Raleigh wasnt enough for Blount.After preforming though out the east cost Blount decided to take his talent to Atlanta Ga.Getting alot of offers on the table Blount loved his freedom as a artist and it was more lucrative to remain independent he turn down offers from labels.In 2000 Blount seen Atl started to grow in music and movies so he release his independent Album Black HollyWood which took off on the local seen and allowed him to stay busy doing shows and producing locals act around the new Motown of the south.Blount was well known in the city hanging and working with Sam Sneed of deathrow,Garvin aka pretty who produce hate me now for Nas and doing production for Eternal Records out of Pittsburgh PA.Working with talent from all across the world in 2009 he took a break from the business he has relocated to TX and then back to NC where he's working on a new album.
